TOPIC:  The Rise of 3D Printing – Practical Considerations from an IP and Commercial Perspective

Content:

  • Overview of 3D printing technologies, and its current/potential business applications;
  • How to exploit and protect ideas more effectively in a crowded IP landscape;
  • Managing legal risk associated with 3D printing; and
  • 3D printing as a target for corporate investment.

The aim is to inform in-house counsel of the practical IP issues and commercial potential and trends related to 3D printing technologies.

SPEAKERS:

Pádraig Walsh, Partner, Bird & Bird, Hong Kong

Pádraig has assisted multinationals and other corporates on a range of corporate procedures, including corporate restructurings, mergers and acquisitions, and joint ventures. He has particular experience of assisting clients in the professional services, luxury goods, aerospace, and insurance sectors.

Michelle Chan, Partner, Bird & Bird, Hong Kong

Michelle has more than 15 years of experience in working on corporate, commercial and regulatory matters concerning the technology, media and telecom sectors in the Asian region. She also has considerable experience in advising clients on data protection issues and non-contentious IP projects. 

Victor Tse, Managing Associate, Bird & Bird, Hong Kong

Victor has acted for many high profile technology companies, venture capital firms and financial institutions. He advises clients on a broad range of legal issues involving technology, from obtaining protection for new products and services, commercializing technology through licensing, resolving disputes, and where necessary, enforcing rights through litigation.
