Real Estate Industry Group Roundtable: Hotel Development – management structure and opportunities in Asia Pacific

The Real Estate Industry Group invites you to the following industry focus roundtable discussion. There will also be networking opportunities before and after the session.  

Drinks and hors d'oeuvres will be served at 5pm with roundtable discussion starting at 5.30pm on 4th November. Members are encouraged to arrive early at 5pm.  

TOPIC:  Real Estate Industry Group:  Hotel Development – management structure and opportunities in Asia Pacific 

We are very pleased to introduce to members our Real Estate Industry group, one of the several industry focus groups under the HKCCA aiming to provide members with resources about property development and real estate matters. We welcome all members who are interested in gaining more in-depth information about the industry.

We are launching our activities with a roundtable discussion with a panel of specialists from the hotel industry.  The panelists will share their experiences and in-sights on some of the topics about hotel management and development around the region:

• Hotel ownership and developments; types and categorisation of hotels
  
• Hotel management structure and a typical hotel management agreement 
  
• Daily operational matters and legal issues in running a hotel 
  
• Latest trends in hotel investment, from both the perspectives of hotel operators and hotel owners.  In a typical hotel merger and M&A transaction, the key legal issues of concern.  
  
• Historically, a number of hotels in Asia are owned by private individuals or families, but there are more investment funds and REITs acquiring hotel businesses. Key differences (if any) and how to deal with the two spectrum of circumstances.
