The HKCCA’s Executive Committee invites you to the following presentation, hosted by Control Risks.

Food and drinks will be provided. 1 Law Society of Hong Kong CPD point has been applied for.  New York and California Approved Jurisdiction policy may apply.

TOPIC:  Cyber Security

Sony, JAL, Target: every week a major corporation is in the news as it falls victim to cyber attacks. But behind the headlines is a complex set of threats, risks and vulnerabilities. With the nature, motivation and capability of attackers constantly changing, general counsels face a dynamic and unpredictable and deeply complex challenge.  James Solyom and Ben Wootliff of Control Risks, the global business risk consultancy, will discuss:

  • Why are organisations failing to stop cyber attacks and why is spending huge amounts of money not working?
  • What is the difference between cyber activism, cyber criminality and cyber espionage?
  • What does it mean to treat cyber as a business risk?
  • How should organisations respond to this threat?

SPEAKERS:

In this role he develops the business globally, oversees projects and manages senior client relationships. James combines a background in strategy consulting with experience in cyber security. He is a guest lecturer on the City University Information Risk Masters course, and has published articles on cyber security risk in McKinsey on Government, SC Magazine and Computer Weekly. James has a first class Honours degree from the University of Oxford.

Ben Wootliff is General Manager of Control Risks Hong Kong office. In this role he is responsible for managing all client relations in Hong Kong and executing a range of investigative, security and political risk consulting projects.
