The importance of having an anti-corruption risk assessment program has come into sharp focus in light of recent regulatory enforcement trends. They show that no multinational company, regardless of the robustness of its compliance program, is invulnerable to investigation for the misconduct of its employees and agents, particularly where it operates in emerging markets like China. SPEAKERS: Ms Mavis Tan,  Senior Managing Director, Compliance, Forensics & Intelligence, Greater China and North Asia

Mavis Tan is a Senior Managing Director of Control Risks’ Compliance, Forensics & Intelligence practice, based in Hong Kong. She has specialised in forensic accounting, litigation support and insolvency for more than a decade, and has extensive experience in leading high profile and confidential financial investigations in the Asia Pacific region. She has assisted listed multinational companies both in responding to allegations of fraud and corruption, and in conducting proactive anti-corruption risk assessments across their operations in Asia.

Before joining Control Risks, Mavis was a Senior Managing Director of FTI Consulting’s forensic and litigation consulting practice based in Hong Kong. Mavis qualified as a Chartered Accountant in the UK, is an ICAEW-accredited Forensic Accountant, a fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants, a practising member of The Academy of Experts and holds a specialist designation in insolvency.

Mr Andrew Macintosh, Managing Director, Compliance, Forensics & Intelligence.

Andrew Macintosh is a Managing Director in Control Risks’ Greater China & North Asia practice, based in Shanghai. He is the regional practice leader for Control Risks’ technology group in the Asia Pacific, and leads on large and complex matters involving investigations and technology in the region. He has particular expertise in leading internal and independent investigations for companies subject to investigation by authorities across multiple jurisdictions.

Andrew previously led Control Risks fraud and forensics practice for Greater China and North Asia, based in Shanghai. Prior to that he worked in Control Risks’ Australia Pacific practice, based in Sydney, where he focused on the delivery of integrity due diligence, business intelligence, litigation support and problem-solving projects for clients around the world. Before joining Control Risks, Andrew was an intelligence analyst, and then a senior technical officer for the NSW Crime Commission. While employed by the Crime Commission, Andrew was involved in the investigation of an extensive range of organised criminal activity both domestically and internationally.
