TOPIC: Hot Topics in Hong Kong Employment Law for 2016
Are you up-to-date with recent employment law developments and have your contracts, policies and procedures been updated accordingly in order to protect your business?
Our presentation will cover the following topics to provide you with a comprehensive update on Hong Kong Employment Law for 2016.
- The law relating to bonuses, particularly in light of the recent decision in Tadjudin Sunny v Bank of America, National Association [2014] HKCFI 2313; HCA 322/2008;
- Employment law case update;
- The Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Ordinance and how it might affect employers/employees; and
- The Competition Ordinance from an employment law perspective.

Qualified in Hong Kong, England and Wales, and New South Wales, Australia, Emily’s experience includes acting for and advising senior executives and companies in respect of non-contentious and contentious employment matters, with a particular emphasis on the financial sector.
She has considerable experience on advising both employees and employers on the enforceability of restrictive covenants and implementing measures to protect businesses upon the departure of employees.
Emily has written, and had published in various legal journals, articles on topics such as termination in the current economic climate and race discrimination and frequently gives seminars on employment law issues.
She was named as a Leading Individual for Employment in the Legal 500 in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014.
