TOPIC: New Draft Foreign Investment Law of China - How it Revolutionizes China’s Foreign Investment Regime
On January 19, 2015, the Ministry of Commerce of China introduced the new draft law on foreign investment for public consultation. This presentation will dissect the new draft law, compare it with existing law and analyze its implications on foreign investment activities. The audience will learn this draft law’s impacts on the foreign investment activities in China and the likely developments going forward.
SPEAKER: Mr. Jason Wang, Partner, Han Kun Law Offices
Mr. Wang joined Han Kun Law Offices from a well-known international law firm in Hong Kong with its headquarter in Paris.
Prior to this, he was an associate of both the corporate practice group and banking and finance practice group of a PRC firm in Beijing.
The areas of his practice while working at those firms included capital market and IPO practice, venture capital and private equity transactions, foreign direct investment, mergers and acquisitions and enterprise restructuring, and covered a wide range of industries such as real estate, building materials, film and television, food, telecommunications, IT, advertising, energy, medication, education, chemicals, nonferrous metals, tobacco, mining, passenger transportation, environmental technologies, and infrastructure. In particular, he represented several multinational and state-owned companies as their long-term external legal counsel.
