The ACC Hong Kong Executive Committee is pleased to support Mind the Gap : Valuable Lessons from the EU and UK for Competition Litigation in Hong Kong Going Forward. Please see details below.

Join Des Voeux Chambers' Catrina Lam, John Hui, Connie Lee, Kelvin Kwok, Jonathan Chan and Cherry Xu, and Monckton Chambers' Tim Ward QC, Philip Moser QC, Paul Harris QC and George Peretz QC for an all day, first of its kind Hong Kong vs UK Competition Symposium, as forerunners from DVC and leading lights from London explore and examine the key legal principles and lessons learned from the EU and UK surrounding cartels, abuse of dominance, as well as public and private enforcement of competition law. This year represents a significant milestone in the development of competition law in Hong Kong as the Competition Commission commenced enforcement proceedings before the Competition Tribunal for the first time and is expected to bring two to three cases per year.

The keynote speech will be delivered by Stephen Ryan, Of Counsel from the Hong Kong Competition Commission. Closing remarks will be delivered by guest speaker Craig Y Lee, Partner, Baker McKenzie, and former Federal Prosecutor from Washington DC.

This is a unique opportunity to learn more about Hong Kong's evolving landscape and track developments in the EU and UK, so as not to make the same missteps in Hong Kong.
