TOPIC:  The new Apology Ordinance (Cap. 631) and caselaw regarding multi tiered dispute resolution clauses.  Followed by insights in to the role of a Notary Public in HK under the Notaries Ordinance (Cap. 159AI)

SPEAKERS:

Damien Laracy, Hill Dickinson Hong Kong

Damien has practiced law since 1990 and in Hong Kong since 1995.  He specialises in commercial litigation and arbitration. His practice regularly involves cross border debt recovery and damages claims (including in relation to internet fraud), international trade and sale of goods disputes, misrepresentation and mis-selling claims concerning financial institutions, employee fraud and business diversion complaints, negotiation of employee severance packages, shareholder and joint venture disputes and enforcement of Judgments and Awards in the PRC and in Hong Kong. Damien also has significant experience with ship mortgage enforcement work, and with In Rem claims against vessels on behalf of unsecured parties. Damien advises in relation to drafting and construction of arbitration references and enforcement of arbitration Awards in the PRC and in Hong Kong.

Damien sits as an arbitrator.
