Multinationals with operations in the Asia Pacific are continually challenged with effectively managing their international workforce across the diverse set of jurisdictions and changing legal landscape. 

Please join Seyfarth Shaw International Employment Law partners, Dominic Hodson and Julia Gorham, for a practical discussion of several important considerations and updates for multinational employers in the Asia Pacific, including: 

• The tightening of regimes in Singapore as employment law become more protectionist and employee-friendly, and the implications for multinational employers;
• An overview of and key differences in the family-friendly employment laws (e.g. parental leave, flexible-working, etc.) across key Asia markets, including in China, India, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore and South Korea; and
• What employers need to know about the various channels for employment disputes in Asia.

Julia Gorham, Partner, Seyfarth Shaw Julia is a partner of Seyfarth Shaw LLP and one of the founding partners of Wong, Wan & Partners, a firm of Hong Kong solicitors in Association with Seyfarth Shaw, a registered foreign law firm in Hong Kong. Julia specialises in employment law, including international employment and human resources projects, employment law compliance, strategic risk management, litigious employment disputes, internal investigations and strategic advice at C-Suite and executive level. Julia has significant experience providing advice to both international and regional clients, who operate in a wide range of industries including investment banking, financial services and technology. Julia was previously in-house counsel at a global investment bank, and this experience ensures a commercial approach to legal advice which is focused on a understanding of the client’s perspectives and unique circumstances.

Dominic Hodson, Partner, Seyfarth Shaw  Dominic is a partner in the San Francisco Office of Seyfarth Shaw LLP.  Dominic specializes in the firm's International Employment Law practice and has devoted his career to the development of this niche practice.  He works regularly and closely with some of the world’s best known brands to assist them with all of their labor and employment needs outside of the US and guide them to compliant and commercially-practical resolutions to those needs.  Mr. Hodson's practice covers each region of the globe and encompasses not only the day-to-day issues which global employers face in managing their workforce in specific countries, but also the complex and detailed issues arising from the implementation and management of multi-jurisdictional HR projects.  He has a particular focus on the labor and employment aspects of international business transactions.
