TOPIC:  E-Commerce in China

The session will provide both an introduction to China’s e-commerce market, and an overview of the draft e-commerce law and related legislation. The said introduction will cover the development of e-commerce in China from an economic and legal perspective, particularly in regards to foreign investment. The legal overview will cover the second draft of the proposed e-commerce law, as released on 7 November 2018, and related legal issues, including the new Cyber Security law. This session will provide in-house counsel with a valuable insight into this developing area of the law, and the consequences it may have for the companies which they represent.

Helen Morris, Partner

Helen is a partner of de Bedin & Lee LLP, working as part of the corporate/commercial and litigation teams. She is a qualified solicitor of Hong Kong and England & Wales, and a member of the State Bar of California.
