MODERATOR
Javed Aboobakar Managing Director (Mauritius), Citco
Javed also heads up Citco’s Business Development team (Global Subsidiary Governance Services) in Asia (including Africa). He has extensive experience in setting-up and administering corporate structures for multinational companies and funds investing in Asia and Africa.
Prior to joining the Citco Group of Companies, he was a director of one of the largest fiduciary companies in Mauritius. He was also the General Manager of BNPI (BNP Paribas) Offshore Banking Unit and the General Manager of BNPI (BNP Paribas) Mauritius Trust Corporation. Before that, Javed was a practicing lawyer in a major international law firm.
He holds a BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance from the University of Leeds (England), an MBA (International Finance) from the University of Bristol (England) jointly with Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussees, Paris, a Bachelor of Laws (LLB Honours) from the University of London and is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).

Alex Bidlake Partner, Linklaters
Based in Hong Kong since 2004, Alex has extensive experience advising corporates, financial sponsors and financial institutions on a range of public and private M&A transactions, joint ventures, private equity deals, primary and secondary equity issues (including IPOs, rights issues and placings) as well as general corporate and regulatory advisory matters. She has particular knowledge of the Hong Kong takeover regulatory regime.
Alex also led the Linklaters team that published a report, in collaboration with the 30% Club Hong Kong, looking at nomination and diversity on Hong Kong boards.
Robert-Jan Kokshoorn Co-head of Global Subsidiary Governance Services (GSGS), Citco
Based in Miami, Robert-Jan joined the Citco Group of Companies in 2000 and had various positions in Curacao, Geneva, San Francisco and Miami. He was instrumental in the setup and development of what is called Citco Global Subsidiary Governance Services today and is currently a member of the GSGS management team. Before joining Citco, Robert-Jan worked for a Dutch Fortune 500 company.
He will share his insight and experience in dealing with corporate governance practice within multinationals globally.
Stanley Lui Head of Legal and Compliance, Hilti Asia Limited
Stanley has been Hilti’s Head of Legal and Compliance for the APAC region since Sept’2015; one of his key functions is formulating and directing compliance programs. Prior to joining Hilti, Stanley worked five and a half years at Nobel Biocare – a medical device manufacturer – as its General Counsel for APAC where he was responsible for procuring legal, compliance and risk related advice to various business functions. Stanley has also worked for the Fire and Security unit of United Technology Corporation (2007 to 2009) and local apparel retailer G2000 (2005 to 2007).
