Marcus Pollard
Competition Counsel, Hong Kong
Marcus Pollard is a Counsel in Linklaters’ Asia Antitrust & Competition practice advising companies on a wide range of Asian and global competition law issues.
In Hong Kong and wider Asia market, Marcus has a unique range of antitrust experiences and regulatory insights. He was amongst the first staff members to join the Hong Kong Competition Commission, during which Marcus assisted in the establishment of the Commission and played a key role in the drafting of the Guidelines, Cartel Leniency and Enforcement Policies and the Memorandum of Understanding with the Communications Authority.
Since rejoining Linklaters in 2016, Marcus has been involved managing a wide number of Hong Kong cases, including:
> representing one of the respondents in the first proceedings brought in the Competition Tribunal and acting for clients in a number of ongoing investigations
> support to clients in a number of the first dawn raids by the Competition Commission and
> attended and advised in multiple compulsory interviews at the Competition Commission and coordinating responses to extensive document requests.

Prior to moving to Asia, Marcus was based in Brussels and worked on a range of global antitrust matters. including investigations with complex commitment processes in the EU and China, leniency applications, and multi-national litigation. Marcus graduated from Oxford University and the College of Europe.
He is a solicitor in Hong Kong and England & Wales.
