Christopher L. O’Dell, is a Managing Director and Co-General Counsel of Asia-Pacific. Chris joined Morgan Stanley in 1998 as counsel to the Firm’s Private Equity Group and Investment Management Division.
In 1999, he was appointed as counsel to IBD’s Real Estate Department and in 2007 was named Global Head of Legal and Compliance for the Merchant Banking Division. From 2010 to 2018, Chris was General Counsel of Morgan Stanley’s Investment Management Division. Before joining Morgan Stanley, Chris was an attorney at Davis Polk & Wardwell. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa in 1987 from the College of William and Mary and, in 1995, earned a JD from the University of Virginia where he received the Shannon Award and was a member of the Order of the Coif and the Virginia Law Review.
Prior to law school, Chris was an active duty officer in the U.S. Army Infantry where he completed Airborne, Air Assault and Ranger Schools and was awarded the Expert Infantry Badge.

Annie is a qualified Solicitor (admitted in Hong Kong and England and Wales) who practiced law for a number of years with international law firms in Hong Kong before switching to a business career. She is Co-Managing Director of Star Anise Legal (a specialist legal recruitment company), SALT (a leadership and training platform) as well as Yuzu (a flexible outsourcing company). She has worked with many organisations in Asia in their searches for General Counsel and other in-house legal professionals.
